At its heart, the Care Closet is about dignity and connection. We understand that life doesn’t always go as planned, and everyone needs a little help sometimes. That’s why we’ve created a space where people feel seen, valued, and supported - not just for what they need but for who they are. Whether you are visiting for the first time or returning again, our hope is that you leave with more than just practical help. We want you to leave knowing you are not alone.

What is the Care Closet?

The Mckenzie Lake Care Closet is a food and clothing bank that seeks to meet the needs of those in our community. We provide non-perishable food, lightly used clothing, personal care items, and small household items. We are also available to listen and attend to emotional needs in a safe environment. The Mckenzie Lake Care Closet is run and operated by Summit Church.

We are more than a Food and Clothing Bank, we invite you to be listened to and cared for in a safe place.

What we offer

Non-perishable food

Food items include any type of beans, cake mixes, cereal (corn flakes, raisin bran, wheat puffs, etc.), coffee, cooking oil, corn, any type of flour, jam, juice boxes (small and large), Kraft dinner, lentils, peanut butter, peas, powdered milk, rice, soups (tomato, vegetable, chicken noodle, mushroom), sugar, tea. All items must be unopened and unused.

Household essentials

Household items include any smaller items and products used around the home such as cutlery, dinner ware, dish soap, disinfectant wipes, facial tissues, lamps, laundry detergent, pet supplies, small appliances, and trash bags, bath towels, hand towels, soft bed sheets, a blanket or comforter, a bathmat, a flower vase (you never know when you’ll need it), coasters, window treatments, a clock, a full-length mirror, a lamp, area rug, wall art. All items must be clean.

Hygiene products

Personal care items include conditioner, deodorant, diapers (all sizes), feminine products, hand soap, laundry detergent, shampoo, toilet paper, tooth brushes, toothpaste. All items must be unused.

Baby Supplies & Clothing

We’re currently collecting essential baby items such as diapers, wipes, formula, baby food, sleepers, change pads, and more. Seasonal outerwear for all ages is also greatly needed.
All items must be clean.

COMMUNITY CARE FUND
All funding that goes to the Community Care Fund allows us to keep our shelves stocked with food, clothing, and household items. Donate online today by clicking below (please ensure you write ‘Care Closet’ in subject line)
